# UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Florida Moved Its Medicaid Rides to MTM Health on March 1, 2026

On March 1, 2026, MTM Health began arranging non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) for Medicaid members of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Florida. UnitedHealthcare announced the change in its March 2026 monthly overview for providers. Before that, Modivcare arranged the plan's rides, and the state's report of plan subcontractors through the second quarter of 2026 still lists Modivcare for the plan. Since March 1, a transportation company needs an MTM agreement to get the plan's Medicaid trips.

## What changed on March 1, 2026

The plan's 2026 care provider manual gives MTM's lines for both of its Medicaid programs: Managed Medical Assistance (MMA) and Long-Term Care (LTC).

MTM also has a hospital discharge line for facilities, 1-888-778-5113. Members book at least 3 business days ahead and can schedule up to 30 days ahead.

The old numbers still appear in two places as of September 30, 2026: the medical management chapter of the plan's own manual and Modivcare's Florida facilities page. Give riders and facilities the MTM line.

## Who it affects

The plan serves three of Florida's nine Medicaid regions. AHCA's enrollment report as of August 31, 2026 shows:

- **Companies that drove the plan's trips for Modivcare.** Those trips now come only through MTM. Settle unpaid trips from before March 1 with Modivcare under your agreement. See the [Modivcare provider guide](https://nemtguide.com/brokers/modivcare/).
- **Companies already in MTM's Florida network.** The same report lists MTM for Molina Healthcare of Florida and the Children's Medical Services Health Plan, and MTM also arranges fee-for-service rides in some regions. Ask whether your agreement covers UnitedHealthcare members in your counties.
- **Hospitals, dialysis centers, and nursing homes.** Discharges and treatment rides for plan members go to MTM. The notice covers Florida Medicaid only. Modivcare's Florida page still lists a separate UnitedHealthcare Medicare line as of September 30, 2026, so ask each broker which UnitedHealthcare Medicare plans it serves. ## What rides MTM arranges for the plan

The 2026 manual lists these ride types through MTM:

- Livery, which is door to door on request
- Ambulatory rides by sedan, van, taxi, or rideshare
- Wheelchair lift-equipped vehicles
- Stretcher vans
- Mass transit
- Advanced life support and basic life support ambulances

Members may also get rides when they are bed-confined before, during, and after the trip. MTM does not provide emergency transportation.

Some trips skip the 3-day notice. Hospital discharges count as urgent and are usually scheduled the same day. For MMA members, dialysis, chemotherapy, and wound care trips count as critical, though the plan still asks members to book them 3 days ahead when they can.

The manual also lists two extra ride benefits for members 18 and older. Members looking for work get up to 20 one-way or 10 round trips a year for job search, if the trips are approved and within 30 miles of home. Caregivers of members in home and community-based care get 4 one-way trips to visit a member living in an assisted living or nursing facility.

## How to get the plan's trips through MTM

1. **Enroll with Florida Medicaid first.** The state's July 1, 2026 plan contract requires plans to make sure every provider has a current provider agreement with AHCA. Plans must treat a valid Limited Enrolled or Fully Enrolled agreement as proof of your license, sanction check, ownership disclosures, and Level 2 background check. 2. **Get an NPI.** The same contract requires every provider to have one.
3. **Apply to MTM** through the application on its service providers page. MTM says it answers quickly when it needs providers in your area and keeps your information on file when it does not.
4. **Pass MTM's credentialing** for your vehicles, drivers, and insurance. Our [MTM Health provider guide](https://nemtguide.com/brokers/mtm-health/) lists what it asks for.
5. **Get any county permits.** In Miami-Dade, the plan's largest county, wheelchair and stretcher companies need a county Non-Emergency Certificate, and each driver needs a chauffeur registration. Approval takes three to six months and goes to the Board of County Commissioners.

Plans must finish onboarding a provider within 60 days. A plan may contract with you while enrollment is pending, but it must end the contract if the state cannot enroll you or the 60 days pass. It may also take back payments if you do not finish onboarding in 60 days and the delay is not its fault.

## What transportation companies should do now

1. **Apply to MTM** if you served UnitedHealthcare members through Modivcare and want those riders back.
2. **Close out Modivcare trips** for dates of service before March 1, 2026.
3. **Update your call sheets.** Give facilities 1-888-777-6528 for reservations and 1-888-778-5113 for hospital discharges.
4. **Keep your Florida Medicaid enrollment current,** because the plan must keep checking it.
5. **Keep more than one source of trips.** UnitedHealthcare also moved its Texas Medicaid rides, to SafeRide Health, on January 1, 2026.
