# Molina Healthcare of Ohio Transportation: MTM Trips, Unlimited Ride Groups, and How to Join

Molina Healthcare of Ohio Medicaid members book free rides at 866-642-9279 (TTY 711), any hour, at least 48 hours ahead, and MTM Health, which replaced Access2Care as Molina's ride vendor, arranges them. Members get 30 one-way trips a year under 30 miles, plus unlimited rides for wheelchair users, dialysis and cancer treatment, pregnancy, babies under one, and hospital discharges. What shapes Molina work is its list of riders with no yearly cap: members who use a wheelchair, pregnant members, and babies under one ride without limit, and so do dialysis, cancer treatment, and hospital discharge trips.

## Who books Molina rides in Ohio

Molina's Medicaid transportation page, as of June 2026, gives one number for booking, changing, and canceling rides: 866-642-9279 (TTY 711), open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Members call at least 48 hours before the visit and can book up to 30 days ahead. The page asks callers to say whether they need extra help, such as help walking to and from the car.

These people can book a Molina ride:

- A member 18 or older.
- A member of any age booking family planning or pregnancy care.
- A parent under 18 booking care for a child.
- A member's parent, legal guardian, or authorized representative.
- An emancipated minor.

Molina says it will do its best to book a same-day ride for a sick visit to the doctor or urgent care, and for a ride home after a hospital stay. It does not promise one, so same-day Molina work comes and goes. A member may also add a pharmacy stop after a doctor's visit if it is named at booking, and Molina tells members to ask the doctor to call the pharmacy first so the medicine is ready. Expect that second stop on some trips and look for it in the trip details before your driver leaves.

## Molina's move from Access2Care to MTM Health

Molina's Ohio Medicaid rides ran through Access2Care, which MTM Health finished buying from Global Medical Response in October 2024. Molina's Ohio home page, as of April 2026, tells members the ride vendor is changing from Access2Care to MTM Health and that the booking app changed from A2C to MTM Link on February 5, 2026. The phone number and benefits did not change, and rides already booked carried over. A second notice on that page says MTM is now the vendor for Molina's MyCare Ohio members too, and MTM's app guide page lists Molina Medicaid in Ohio as of September 2026.

MTM's page for former Access2Care members says it keeps working with the same transportation providers. If you drove Molina trips under an Access2Care agreement, ask MTM in writing which agreement and rate sheet now cover you, which driver app your drivers use, and whether your credential files moved over. ## How many rides Molina members get

Molina's transportation page, as of June 2026, and Ohio's 2027 plan comparison, updated July 1, 2026, describe the same benefit:

A round trip uses two of the 30. Molina's short-trip allowance reads the same in Ohio's 2026 plan comparison, updated September 24, 2025, as in the 2027 one, so it did not change for 2027. The 2027 comparison lists 30 round trips for Anthem and AmeriHealth Caritas, double Molina's 15. Molina can fill a trip with Lyft or Uber, a taxi or van, a free bus pass, mileage for a member who drives or rides with a friend, or transportation the provider sets up. The 2027 comparison adds unlimited bus passes for parents or guardians of babies in the NICU.

When a member uses up the 30, Ohio's plan comparison says the plan works with the member to move to the county job and family services NET program, and Molina's page sends members to their county office for some rides as well. ### What the unlimited groups mean for your fleet

Because wheelchair users' rides never count toward the 30, Molina wheelchair work does not dry up late in the year the way short ambulatory trips can. [Dialysis](https://nemtguide.com/guides/dialysis-transportation/) and cancer treatment runs are uncapped too. If you run [wheelchair accessible vehicles](https://nemtguide.com/glossary/wheelchair-accessible-vehicle/), say so on your MTM application and list the counties where you can take those trips every week.

The pregnancy and infant groups bring a different kind of rider. A parent can ride to a Molina child's visit even when the child stays home, as long as it is said at booking. When children come along, the family brings a car seat for each child who needs one, and Molina tells members the driver will not have one. ## Rules your drivers meet on Molina trips

Molina's member rules decide how a missed trip is counted:

- **Cancel 24 hours ahead.** A member who cancels later may lose one of the 30 one-way trips for the year.
- **Coming out to the car.** A member who does not come to the car when the driver arrives may also lose a trip. Log the arrival time, each call, and the departure time on every Molina [no-show](https://nemtguide.com/glossary/no-show/).
- **One companion.** A member may bring one person. Children who come along are named at booking, and Molina does its best to fit them.
- **Door-to-door help.** When a member needs it, the driver walks the member from the door to the car and into the provider's office. Check each trip for that note so the driver plans the extra minutes.

Ohio's contract with its health plans, revised July 2026, bars a plan from limiting how many rides a member takes in one day, so a Molina member with a morning dialysis run and an afternoon doctor's visit can book both. ## How to get Molina trips through MTM

Molina does not sign ride companies for these trips. MTM does, and its network page says its system will not assign trips to a provider whose credentials have lapsed. In order:

1. **Get your Ohio registrations.** A PUCO certificate covers every for-hire passenger carrier, and wheelchair vans also need an [ambulette](https://nemtguide.com/glossary/ambulette/) license and van permits from the State Board of EMFTS. 2. **Enroll with Ohio Medicaid if you run wheelchair vans.** MTM's application form, as of September 2026, says a valid Ohio EMS license and ODM ID are required for wheelchair providers and that applications without them are voided.

4. **Finish MTM's steps.** A network representative calls for an interview, then come the contract, credentialing, training, and your first trip.

### What Molina trips pay

Ohio rule 5160-15-28, effective August 1, 2026, says a ride given under an arrangement with a Medicaid health plan is paid under the provider agreement, so your MTM contract sets the Molina rate. Ask MTM for its Ohio rate by level of service before you sign. For comparison, Ohio's fee-for-service maximum for a wheelchair van is $31.00 a trip plus $1.30 a mile, unchanged since January 1, 2024.
