# Florida Community Care Transportation: Ride2MD Rides for Long-Term Care and Medicaid Members

Florida Community Care transportation runs through Ride2MD, the plan's only statewide ride vendor since October 8, 2020. Members book through FCC at 1-833-FCC-PLAN (1-833-322-7526), ideally 72 hours ahead. Most FCC members are in long-term care, and most of those are 65 or older. A company gets the trips, including rides to dialysis and adult day care, by enrolling with Florida Medicaid and contracting with Ride2MD.

Florida Community Care, LLC (FCC) is a provider service network based in Miami, and its provider handbook describes it as a long-term care plan serving Florida's elders. AHCA's April 12, 2024 awards named it a comprehensive plan, covering both medical care and long-term care, in Regions A, B, C, D, and I, with HIV/AIDS and serious mental illness specialty plans. Its provider handbook calls it a Select Comprehensive Plan in Regions E through H, where nearly every FCC member is in long-term care. FCC also runs Florida's statewide managed care program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. FCC's rides go through one statewide vendor, Ride2MD. ## Who arranges Florida Community Care rides

AHCA's Health Care Alert of September 25, 2020 announced that Access2Care would stop running FCC's rides on October 8, 2020, and that Ride2MD would become FCC's single transportation subcontractor statewide. All booked and standing trips moved to Ride2MD. AHCA's subcontractor report through the second quarter of 2026 still lists Ride2MD for FCC, and for Simply Healthcare and Clear Health Alliance.

FCC members book through FCC rather than calling Ride2MD. Members, doctors, and other providers call FCC, and FCC's care managers help set rides up. FCC's September 2026 provider directory for Miami-Dade and Monroe lists no transportation companies under Transportation, only FCC's own number, and tells members to ask their care manager.

That routing comes from FCC's resource guide updated in July 2026. The guide names rides home after a discharge, dialysis, and chemotherapy as trips this line handles. The 2020 alert sent callers to option 3, and AHCA's 2023 vendor list to option 1, so update any old line sheets at the facilities you serve.

## Who FCC's riders are

On August 31, 2026, AHCA counted 34,550 FCC long-term care members, about 20 percent of Florida's 174,349. That put FCC just ahead of Sunshine (34,343), Humana (32,443), and Simply (30,454). About 30,000 of FCC's long-term care members were 65 or older, and 32,736 were [dual eligible](https://nemtguide.com/glossary/dual-eligible/), with Medicare as well as Medicaid. AHCA's rate groups counted 22,517 of them in home and community-based care and the other 12,033 outside it.

By county, FCC had 8,784 long-term care members in Miami-Dade, 3,778 in Palm Beach, 2,976 in Broward, 2,164 in Pinellas, 1,599 in Hillsborough, and 1,396 in Lee. It held about a third of all long-term care members in Palm Beach, St. Lucie, Martin, Indian River, Lee, Sarasota, and Charlotte counties, and a quarter in Pinellas.

The split tells you where trips start. In Miami-Dade and Monroe, 85 percent of FCC's long-term care members are in home and community-based care, so most of their rides begin at a home or an assisted living facility. In the Panhandle and Region B, most are outside that group, so more of their rides run from a nursing home to an appointment and back.

FCC's medical coverage counted 42,833 members, 20,464 of them also in long-term care. Outside long-term care, those members are in Regions A to D and I, with the most in Region B (12,223 in all). In Regions E to H, AHCA counted almost no FCC medical members who were not also in long-term care.

## How FCC rides work day to day

FCC's member handbook, effective July 30, 2026, covers three kinds of ride:

- **Medical trips.** Rides to all medical appointments for members with no other way to get there, by bus, wheelchair van, taxi, or other vehicle, including out-of-state travel, transfers between hospitals or facilities, and escorts when medically necessary.
- **Long-term care trips.** Rides to and from all long-term care program services, such as adult day health care, which the handbook describes as supervision, social programs, and activities at an adult day care center during the day. The handbook lists no prior authorization for these rides.
- **Non-medical trips.** One round trip a month, up to 30 miles, for members of every FCC plan, booked through Member Services.

FCC's member newsletter for the second quarter of 2026 adds how rides run: a companion may ride along when needed, trips may be shared with other riders, and at least 72 hours of notice is preferred. Adult day health care itself needs FCC's prior authorization, so a member's center days are approved before the rides begin. ### Riders in the ICMC program

AHCA picked FCC in February 2024 as the only plan for the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Comprehensive Managed Care (ICMC) program. It began as a pilot in Region D and Region I for Medicaid adults 18 and older with a developmental disability. Under section 409.9855 of the Florida Statutes, anyone on the iBudget Waiver pre-enrollment list can join wherever they live since October 1, 2025, and since July 1, 2026 people already on the iBudget Waiver or in long-term care can join too.

AHCA counted 1,199 ICMC members on August 31, 2026, up from 1,151 a month earlier, with the most in Region D (302), Region B (270), and Region I (217). ICMC covers adult day training, supported employment, and prevocational services, and its handbook covers transportation to and from all ICMC services. Members' caregivers also get four round trips or eight one-way trips a month, up to 40 miles round trip or 20 miles one way per trip. ## How to get Florida Community Care trips

1. **Find your counties** in the tables above. FCC's share of long-term care members is highest in Palm Beach, on the Treasure Coast, and in Southwest Florida, and Miami-Dade has the most riders.
2. **Get your local permits.** Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, and Broward each set their own permit rules for medical transportation companies; see their county pages linked above.
3. **Enroll with Florida Medicaid** through AHCA. FCC's provider handbook requires every provider in its own network to be fully enrolled with Florida Medicaid, and the [Florida guide](https://nemtguide.com/states/florida/) walks through enrollment.
4. **Contract with Ride2MD.** Call FCC Provider Relations at 1-866-962-6186 and ask for Ride2MD's provider contact. The Simply Healthcare page covers the Ride2MD contacts Simply gives its providers.
5. **Ask for all three plans.** Name FCC, Simply, and Clear Health Alliance, your counties, and your levels of service, since AHCA lists Ride2MD for all three.
6. **Offer standing work.** Tell Ride2MD which adult day care centers, dialysis units, and assisted living facilities you already serve in FCC's counties.

FCC also has a Join our Network form for providers that contract with FCC itself. Its contracting team takes up to 10 days to review a request, and a submission does not guarantee a contract.
